Having struck gold with big tickets, Udhayanidhi Stalin is seemingly pitching on different grounds now. His next production will not have A-league stars and technicians, but is purely based on substantial story and narration by Seenu Ramasamy that impressed the Udhayanidhi Stalin.

The film titled ‘Neer Paravaigal’ is based on the fishermen and drama of their day-to-day encounters. Bindhu Madhavi has been signed opposite Vimal for the female lead character. Raghu Nandhan will be scoring music to the National award winner Vairamuthu’s lyrics.

Sneha and Prasanna wedding announce in January

Sneha and Prasanna, who previously announced about their relationship, now confirmed that their marriage date will be declared by the end of January.

‘Achamundu Achamundu’ is the suspense thriller that casts Lovebirds Prasanna and Sneha in the leads. During this film’s shoot the pair fell in love. Two months ago the couple made a formal announcement about their relationship and the wedlock.
Prasanna and Sneha were recently spotted in cuddappah in Andhra Pradesh. The stars have offered prayers in famous Darga and Prasanna said “Many told us that this is a very powerful Darga and hence we offered our prayers there on Thursday. As far as our marriage is concerned, we will make an announcement by the end of January.”
Sneha also confirmed her love with Prasanna, without elaborating. It is heard that elders in both the families had interactions and taken a decision regarding the marriage of the stars.

I’d never put on obscene costumes, says Nisha Agarwal

Nisha Agarwal is the debutant heroine waiting to make waves in Tamil films. As the name amply suggests, Nisha is the younger sibling of established actress Kajal Agarwal, who has been among the leading heroines in both Tamil and Telugu films. Nisha’s stature, physics and facial appearance resemble very almost that of Kajal.

Nisha would be debuting as Vimal’s heroine in the upcoming film Ishtam. Thanks to her elder sibling’s popularity, Nisha knows a thing or two about how it feels like being a newcomer in the industry. “I’m very happy to be debuting in Tamil through Ishtam. I’m also doing a couple of Telugu films as well. In fact, I love the professional ethics and work culture followed both in Telugu and Tamil film industries.
“Shooting schedules are strictly adhered to as per original plans which are quite appreciable. Only recently, I completed the shooting of one of the Telugu films. The shooting schedule of the other film was halted due to the Telengana struggle; I now come to know that the film has since been abandoned for the time being. I’m not sure when the shooting schedule would resume.
“Like Kajal, I’d love to star in films in all languages. Soon, I’d be making my debut in Bollywood as well. Whatever film offers I’m getting, I first discuss it with Kajal and then decide about which ones to take up and which ones to reject. We both criticize each other’s work in a constructive manner which helps us to avoid whatever errors we might commit.
“Irrespective of the money offered to me, I shall never put on swim-wear in any of my movies. I’d always ensure that the costume(s) I put on doesn’t make me and the audiences feel embarrassed,” concludes Nisha.

The song which had the world dancing Kolaveri Di, is now being picturised onthe sandy beaches on ECR in Chennai.
Debutant director Aishwarya Dhanush is shooting the song for 3 at VGP Golden Beach resort.

The popularity of the song which has become a phenomenal worldwide hit has given a lot of confidence to the 3 team.
All songs from the film composed by Anirudh has also become chartbusters after last week’s music launch.
3 is slated for release in the first week of February. The film with Kolaveri Di has become a craze in trade circles.
The buzz is that a Mumbai based corporate may buy the theatrical rights of the film at an unheard price.

Vijay’s ‘Appadi podu’ falls into Akshay Kumar’s lap

The rights of the Bollywood version of ‘Appadi podu…’, a chartbuster song from Vijay starrer Tamil movie Gilli, has changed hands. Actor Sonu Sood, who had bought the rights, has sold it to Akshay Kumar.

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has reportedly bought the rights of ‘Appadi podu…’ for his forthcoming Hindi movie Naam Hai Boss. It is said that the Khiladi requested Sonu Sood and the audio label to give him the same and managed to get the rights.
Reports add that Akshay Kumar, like Sonu Sood, was impressed with the track at the first hearing. Without delaying, the actor decided to acquire the rights to know that it was already been sold to Sonu Sood and the latter had already started working on it.
However, Akshay Kumar is yet to finalize the singer and the composer for the Hindi version of ‘Appadi podu…’. The original song was sung by Krishna Kumar Kunnath and Anuradha Sriram and the Hindi version.

Radhika back in Kollywood

Theater personality and Bollywood actress Radhika Apte, who impressed with her riveting performance in RGV’s Rattha Charithram, is back in a Tamil film titled Vettri Selvan. Ajmal, who surprised everyone with his villain act in Ko, is the lead protagonist.

The story is about three individuals abandoned by society who bring about a revolution.
Rudhran, a popular name in the ad film circuit and with several awards to his credit, debuts as the director.
Rudhran has worked as an assistant to Vikram Kumar in the Madhavan starrer Yaavarum Nalam. “Though it has a serious subject, I have infused a lot of commercial elements into it to make it interesting,” he says.
Playback singer Mano returns to the silver screen after a long hiatus and appears in an important character role. Ganja Karuppu will be seen in a comic role and Mani Sharma will be composing the tracks.

Kajal Aggarwal is superstitious and she admits it. The actress not only wants to give her best to her characters but also wishes to bring good fortunes to the films in which she acts. Well, the Naan Mahaan Alla gal believes that so far white has proved to be a lucky colour for her movies and through it, she wants to repeat the same for her upcoming Tamil movie Thupaki.
The gorgeous girl claims that the movies have turned out to be massive hits, whenever she has sported white-dress for her first shots. Giving examples of Telugu blockbuster Magadheera, which was dubbed in Tamil as Maaveeran, and her debut Bollywood movie Singham, Kajal Aggarwal adds that in those films, the 26-year-old had given her introduction sequence wearing white-dress and hopes to continue the same magic for Vijay’s Thupaki.
Meanwhile, Kajal Aggarwal’s wish has been granted by AR Murugadoss. We hear that she has shot her first scene wearing white costume in Thupaki too.

Director Lingusamy is planning to remake Vettai in Hindi. The director is looking to strike gold in Bollywood and feels that Vettai would be his ticket. Talks are on with Salman Khan to essay the role Arya did in Vettai. It is also believed that Amala Paul may get a chance in the Hindi version as well. The stars for the roles played by Sameera Reddy and Madhavan are yet to be finalized, say sources.
Vettai is slated for release this Pongal. Music for this film has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Arya, Amala Paul, Madhavan and Sameera Reddy play the lead roles in this film.

Vijay looks promising in 2012 with Nanban, Thupaki, Yohan

The year 2012 looks promising for Vijay. For a change, the Kaavalan star preferred noted filmmakers to young directors. As a result, the actor has three movies, which are directed by the best names of the Kollywood, in the current year. Here, we are trying to give a glimpse of his forthcoming movies.
Nanban: 
First on the list is Nanban directed by ace filmmaker Shankar. The movie, which is releasing for Sankranthi, has generated a lot of curiosity from the day it hit the floors. The multi-starrer film is a youthful entertainer, which is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots. The Tamil film shows him in a college student avatar and he is all set to impress the audience with his comedy-filled movie.
Thupaki:
Thupaki, as the title says, is an out-and-out action drama. The movie made by AR Murugadoss has attracted the mass audience, as the action genre is tailor-made for Vijay. The movie tells the tale of an ordinary man’s journey to Mumbai, where he sees himself as a don to rule the underworld. The movie, which also features Kajal Aggarwal, has started the shooting and expected to hit the screens in mid-2012.
Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru:
Vijay is playing a contrasting character to his above mentioned other roles in Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru. The Ilayathalapathy will be enacting the character of an undercover agent in the action-thriller directed by Gautham Menon. The major part of the shooting will be shot in abroad and the regular shoots are expected to kick-start in late-2012. The movie has AR Rahman’s music and some of the best Hollywood technicians will work in this project.

It all started with Santhanam, who through his comedy shows became famous and an overnight success in films. Following him is Jeeva from the same show ‘Lollu Sabha’, who is now making his debut in films.

Kollaikaran to hit the screens on Pongal day

It has been decided to release the film Kollaikaran which has ‘ Myna’ Viddarth in the lead role. This film has joined Vettai and Nanban in the Pongal race.
This film which has been produced under the banner Prasad Cine Arts has been directed by Tamil Selvan.
Tamil Selvan had been the associate director of director Seenu Ramasamy. Viddarth, Sanjitha Shetty and Ravi Shankar have starred in this film. A L Johan has composed the music for this film.
This film is about a youth who involves himself in small immoral things rectifies himself later on and tries bring changes in the society.
The shooting of the film had taken place in and around Kumbakonam. The director says that this film speaks about the lives of the village people with the backdrop of comedy and love.

Shriya says that she has lost her market

Shriya became popular by pairing with Rajni. She was also leading actresses in Tamil and Telugu film industries.
But in the recent times she has no films in her hand. The last Tamil film she had acted was Rowthiram.

There was news that the producers are not signing her for their films since she has lost her market. When asked Shriya about this, she said, “I am in cinema for the last 12 years.
I have earned a name that I will act in any role given to me. There is no truth in the news that I have lost the market or I don’t have films in hand.
When I was new to cinema, I accepted all the films that came my way. I also acted in few of the films because of the proximity I had with the producer or the director.
Now I have become financially strong. Now it is not necessary for me to act in all the films. I have decided to act in the films that have good stories.
Many are spreading rumours because of this. In some of the films I continue to dance for a single song and also busy participating in the functions.”

Stay sought on Vikram’s Karikalan

One KS Nagaraj , proprietor of Vinmeen Creations has sought a stay on the shooting of Vikram’s Karikalan.
A Chennai civil court has issued notices to four parties including Vikram on a petition filed by KS Nagaraj, who said he had the “pre-emptive rights to the title and the story of the film”.

The petitioner says while he was in school he became interested in the history of the Chola emperor Karikalan who built the first dam in the country.
In 1991 he began working on the script based on the king’s life. And in 1994 he registered the title of the film with the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce. He spent around Rs 10 lakhs mobilising funds for the project, but it did not take off.
The matter is to come up on January 12 at the 15th assistant city civil court.
